Mandy Cheung


Mandy Cheung  was born in Chekiang, China, to an artist family, which helped her attain success in the field of art and music early on. She learned to play musical instruments from around age 13. She studied Pipa with Liu De Hai and Tang Liang Xing, and Guzheng with Su Qiao Zheng. In 1978, she joined the "Chekiang Shaosing Opera Troupe", starting her career as a performer.


She was invited to the "Chekiang Television Broadcast Station" to take part in their program. In 1985, she went to Hong Kong. In addition to performing, she started to teach Pipa and Guzheng. In 1992, she was invited to perform in Japan, where she had a successful tour. Another successful tour followed in Europe in 1998. Some of her performances were recorded by various TV crews. They were broadcast in Italy, Korea, Hungary and the US.

Since 1999, she's been living in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she continues to perform and teach. Since 2000, she's been performing on events presented by Boris Goldmund Productions, Inc.


2002 - One of her students was chosen as Miss Talented in the Chinatown Pagent.


2003 - One of her students won third prize in Sing Tao Children's Talent Contest.


She and a few of her students appeared on NBC, Bay Area Chanel 11,

during the Chinese Moon Festival.


2004 - One of her students is now a successful music teacher in Hong Kong, whose

student was recruited by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra.


2006 - One of her students won a special prize in the Northern California

Guzheng Contest.


2007 - One of her students won second prize in Sing Tao Children's Talent Contest.
