Multi-instrumentalist, electronic musician and innovator of the Kora (a 21-stringed harp/lute from West Africa).
Daniel's music is an eclectic fusion of world and electronic music, wielding a stunning array of wondrous instruments such as the Handsonic and the Kora which he loops live to create a jaw dropping one man show.
Daniel has performed and toured with Essence, Ben Graves, San Francisco Festival of Harps, Artemis, Djali Kunda Kouyate, Noe Venable, the Venusians and Bogo Fusion. He has written scores for dozens of dance companies and choreographers such as ODC, Kunst-Stoff, Sara Shelton Mann, Lizz Roman, Dandelion Dance Company, Company Mechanique, Stacy Printz Dance Project, Heidi Schweiker and Janice Garrett and Dancers. He is also a faculty member at San Francisco Ballet. His experience in both presenting live corporate performances and composing private media scores include such companies as Google, Yahoo, Babcock & Brown, The U.S. Marines, Avon, Landor & Associates, Millipore and others. He most recently performed for Barack Obama with Bogo Fusion.
Daniel is also a recording artist in his own right with two highly acclaimed CD's, "Calabashmoon" and "Heartstrings", featuring his work with Kora and electronics. His debut electronic CD is expected to be released in 2009 under the moniker "Colfax".
